At its core, our two main focuses are:

1. Making genetics a more accessible field for all students, through club chapters across the world, school partnerships, fundraising for science classroom materials, and providing resources for WiSTEM.

2. Funding genetic research to find solutions for incurable terminal illnesses.

Our disease of focus this year is pulmonary fibrosis, a lung disease characterized by scarring in patients' lungs. Pulmonary fibrosis is currently incurable, with a life expectancy of 3-5 years, but this estimate is increasing as newer medicines and treatments progress, especially highlighting the necessity of pulmonary fibrosis research. In honor of Women's History Month, we held a Women in STEM Panel hosting six accomplished women in STEM, including directors of research from Stanford, CEOs of scientific research companies, and university professors, where youth would be able to hear about their journey creating a career in STEM and their words of wisdom for young women aspiring to follow a similar path!
